Maryam is an internationally recognised expert in child protection and safeguarding, with an International Child Right’s Background with over 15 years of experience. She has been working with global organisations across law enforcement, health, education, policy, social institutions, and international development. Her extensive work has involved helping high-level institutions assess, design, and implement robust international child rights frameworks, ensuring that children’s rights are respected and upheld in various settings. As a trusted International Advisor and a Board member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN), Maryam continues to play a pivotal role in advocating for the highest standards of child protection and safeguarding, both in the physical world and in the increasingly complex digital landscape.

For the past few years, she has been a leading advocate for Responsible AI, championing the integration of child protection principles within emerging technologies. Recognising the profound impact that artificial intelligence can have on children’s lives.
